Covered are two trips out of Chicago (Proviso)-to Butler (Milwaukee), WI and to Clinton, IA on former C&NW tracks. Some freights make it into this tape. Also included are several "suicide shots". I produced this tape for the ES&NA. Covers operation of their line, trackside and in cab. Includes #1, a 2-6-0, built by Baldwin in 1906, a genuine wood burner with cabbage stack; #201, another 2-6-0, oil burner built in 1906. They put on quite a show, some on a 2.8 per cent grade! Their dinner train, pulled by a first generation diesel switcher also makes a showing. About 40 minutes. $19.95

SNOW TRAIN - 1999
Witness Mid-Continent Railway Museum's Snow Train at North Freedom, WI on February 12th & 13th, 1999. Saginaw Timber #2, a vest pocket 2-8-2 built in 1912 by Baldwin does the honors. Also is an Alco switcher on the caboose train. STEREO and a 2nd generation copy. 52 minutes. $14.95

MIDWESTERN STEAM - 2002 - UP 3985 & MILW 261
In June, 2002, big steam hit the Midwest! Four days were spent chasing Union Pacific's 4-6-6-4 #3985 - The two trips from Elmhurst to Butler (Milwaukee) and two days following the loco and train in and out of Chicagoland. Includes pacing. The day after chacing the train into Iowa, our cameras caught Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 # 261 enroute to Chicago from Minneapolis (over two days). Trackside and pacing. FRISCO 1522 - THE LAST YEAR?
On September 28th and 29th, 2002, Frisco 4-8-2 #1522 pulled exursions from St. Louis to Newburg, MO and return on trips which were the last for the St. Louis Steam Train Association. After 14 years of trips, the organization decided to call it quits due, mainly, to high insurance premiums. This 50 minute STEREO tape covers these final two runs as well as a break-in run from North St. Louis to West Quincy on a cold day in March. $19.95

FREIGHT EXTRA FRISCO 1522 WEST
It is certainly unusual to see steam on the main line, let alone pulling freight! On April 29th, 2001, Frisco 4-8-2 #1522 pulled support cars and freight on a break in run from St. Louis to Newburg and return. In less than a month later, the 1522 ferried to Springfield and then on the business end of the BNSF's Employee Recognition Special. Our cameras were there for the freight, ferry move, and one day of the BNSF Special. About 3/4 of an hour. STEREO $18.95. Check out the 1522 Gallery #1 for photos of this run. Click here for gallery

UP 3985 TO HOUSTON
Covers portions of the 4-6-6-4's two trips to Houston in 2004. 1st in January enroute to the Superbowl, we caught the 3985 near Kansas City and followed it to Jefferson City over the old MoPac. I have never seen this engine smoke more than it did on this trip! Then in late spring the 3985 went to Houston again. We caught this fine machine for two days-the first in Oklahoma with some mighty fine pacing! And the second day from Van Buren into Little Rock.

STEAM ALONG THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI
Summer 2004-CP 4-6-4 2816 made ferry moves back to Canada, including a couple of excursions out of Minnepolis/St. Paul. We first caught this fine locomotive on the head end of our train from Bensenville, IL to Milwaukee. Then some track side shots west. Next was some fine running, and healthy portions of pacing on a trip out of the Twin Cities along the west side of the Mississippi on CP rails. The video ends with track side shots of Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 261 enroute to Milwaukee on CP rails.
